Sorry I'm a bit tardy with the news - I see EmeraldCity has already posted a blurb about it. Here's the release I was sent to post:

------

Creation Entertainment and Signal Room are VERY PLEASED to announce
that Signal Room will be appearing in Burbank for the 2006 Farscape
Convention. Anthony, Wayne, Stephen, and Gerry are psyched to be able
to play for you all again and can't wait for November!

NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY TICKETS!!! They'll be for sale on Creation's
website very soon so keep checking - your interest is what got us this
far, your ticket purchases will get the band here to play an awesome gig!

Stay tuned to www.signalroom.com and www.creationent.com for more
exciting announcements about the gig as we get closer to the event.

There will be some very special surprises coming your way!

Thank you everyone who wrote letters, called, and helped every way
they could to make this happen.

-------

So yay for us and yay for the guys! Who's going?

I was asked to pass this along:

Burbank Tickets 2006

Hey All,

I just have to point out again that we need tickets to be sold early to make this gig happen.

The Signal Room show has to pay for itself by the tickets sold. This is the only way Creation would agree to have the gig this year. So you need to get your tickets sooner, rather than later.

I know that some of you have bought gold tickets to the convention already & it is extra to see the band but we promise to deliver a great gig for you guys. It will be $25 well spent.

Tell your friends & people who aren't going to the con to come to the gig. Spread the word about Signal Room if you can.

We need to also get our myspace friend numbers up so if you feel like referring people to our web-site & myspace page please do. The more people that get into the band the more music we can record & get out to you.

Again Anthony , Wayne , Gerry & myself would like to thank all of you for your support & efforts in helping us get to Burbank this year.

I hope to say G,day to all of you at the Burbank Convention in November.

Stephen ( Signal Room )

So anyone who has been meaning to buy tickets and haven't yet, so go, go, go! Very Happy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

It's Not American Idol But You May Still End up Singing on Stage

Signal Room, Australian rockers with Farscape ties, to hold backup singer talent competition for November 3, 2006 gig in Burbank, CA.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 25, 2006 -- Australian band Signal Room announces a competition for backup singers to perform with the band at their November 3, 2006 show in Burbank, CA. Singers will have to get familiar with the band's music and submit a sample of their harmony stylings at the band's website www.signalroom.com. Competitors may register solely or as a small group of up to 4 people.

Signal Room isn't your every day Aussie rock band. Guitarist Anthony Simcoe and drummer Wayne Pygram also starred in the sci fi hit Farscape as Ka D'Argo and Scorpius respectively. Simcoe and Pygram, together with guitarist Stephen Edwards and bassist Gerry Kortegast couldn't be happier about returning to Los Angeles. “The whole band is psyched to be returning to the U.S. to play,” says Anthony Simcoe. “The last time we were here was in 2004 and the crowd and the vibe of the gig were excellent. The convention crowds are always really receptive and great to play to.” The November 3rd performance will take place at the official Farscape Convention.

“Look, this isn't going to be American Idol meets Galaxy Quest,” says Wayne Pygram. “You don't need blue skin or pointy ears to sing with us. This will be a real rock gig and we want real singers to join us on stage.” Live auditions for finalists will take place in Burbank in the days before the show.

For Signal Room, the talent competition is just another way to say thank you and to personalize the experience for their fans. The band is known for an amazing rapport with their listeners. “Our fans are the reason we're returning. They made a big push for us with Creation Entertainment, the company that puts on the convention. Creation received a flood of requests from folks who wanted to see us play, so we'll be there this year,” says Gerry Kortegast. “We may even have a sit down with the fans just before the gig to personally thank them for such great support.”

Signal Room will also debut a new CD, the band's third, at the November 3 show in Burbank. Stephen Edwards adds, “we wanted to be sure to have new material to play for everyone coming to the show and since Anthony has been writing, it just made sense to record a new CD.”

Tickets for the November 3rd show must be purchased in advance – the cutoff date for sales has not yet been set. For a chance to perform live with Signal Room, singers may register through October 20, 2006. For more information, to register for the competition and to buy tickets, go to www.signalroom.com or www.myspace.com/signalroom.

A message from Signal Room.

Hey everyone,

We want to thank everyone who's bought tickets so far for the show in Burbank. There seem to be a lot of questions around about the gig, the whole "ticket pre-sales thing," etc.

So, here is what's going on.

We and Creation received hundreds of e-mails since the last con, asking us to come back to the US, as a band, and play. It's a difficult and expensive proposition to organise a gig on the other side of the world, but your interest and support spurred us on. We've been working on this with Creation since April.

We want to point out that this concert is for you, the fans - it is NOT going to be a money maker for Creation or anyone for that matter. The ticket price was settled on to cover the cost of travel and lodging and equipment and crew for the show.

Our motivation is to play for you guys & to release our new CD to you guys first at the convention.

But airfares need to be purchased, hotel rooms need to be set aside, and equipment must be rented and crew need to be scheduled. And it's quite late in the game to be doing this.

To put on the kind of show we'd like to put on, 350 tickets need to be sold. We had 470 people at the show the last time we played there. As we said, hundreds of you e-mailed asking us to come. Where are all of you now? We now need you to buy tickets for this show if you want it to go ahead.

We are no where near 350 tickets sold. Fewer tickets sold means less equipment - which is fine - we can still put on a pretty rockin' show with a smaller PA. But even fewer tickets sold, and we don't come at all and you all get refunds.

We are going to have to have a cut off date for sales so decisions can be made. This will be more than likely The 15th of October.

We created the backup singer competition to add something interesting an unique and fun to the show and maybe give some people who otherwise wouldn't have come, incentive to come to the gig. Also to have some nice harmonies from Scapers out there who can sing backing us up at the gig.

That's the heart of the matter. Creation has done what they can. We've promoted as much as possible. It's up to you all. This is all about getting what you asked for.

We'd love to play.

It's in your hands . If you want to see us play get your tickets now.

If you would like to spread the word and help us sell those tickets that would be great.

If you know of places to post about the gig, please do so. If you have ideas on how to get the word out there better, let us know.

Thanks.
Anthony, Wayne, Stephen and Gerry
